What experiences do you have that make you a good candidate for office?

I have been a Kaneville Trustee since 2006. As a proprietor of a successful family owned business that is an integral part of the community I feel I am blessed. I am in an unique position of hearing first hand from Kaneville citizens and visitors what is of a concern to them. Also my experience with operating the business and organizing various community events has helped to prepare me to hold the position of Village President.

What are your top two or three priorities if elected?

The USPS Post Plan/Reduction of Hours. Stop the eventual closing of our post office and bring back regular postal hours. Finish the road projects that we started on several streets and culdesac’s. Finding the money to replace our sidewalks on Main Street without imposing any taxes or special assessments.

Would you support freezing your taxing district’s levy until housing prices rebound? Why or why not?

Yes I would. Residents are having a hard enough time paying their mortgages. We need to help the homeowners in our community as best as we can during this modern day recession.

What one decision by the village board do you most disagree with and why?

As a board member I supported all the decesions we made as a board.

What was the biggest accomplishment of the board in the past year?

We implemented a badly needed road maintenance program.

Why should voters elect you to office?

Voters should elect me to office because I am an integral part of the community and I will listen to the residents concerns and needs. I will continue to the best of my abilities to keep Kaneville the quaint, small country town that it is today.
