On the Record

What experiences do you have that make you a good candidate for office?

I am a team leader. I have run many types of operations and teams that require hard work, ingenuity, patience, honesty, working with others, training others and learning from others. I work well with others and always work hard to get the job done right. I have developed and implemented quality programs for work being done nationwide and also down to the micro customer level. With some of my accounting background, I also manage purchasing and inventory activity for large and small scale demands.

What are your top two or three priorities if elected?

My first priority is to install new sidewalks in the village. Currently most areas are un-walkable for many of our residents. I want the center of our town to be easily accessible for the residents, encourage them to take a family walk together and also spending time in conversation with other neighbors in passing. It is too easy to jump in your car, go get what you need and drive home. Part of what makes this community what it is, is talking with those we pass and getting to know everyone better. Second, is to continue to operate our finances responsibly and be able to serve our community where and when needed.

Would you support freezing your taxing district’s levy until housing prices rebound? Why or why not?

We currently do not have a Village tax, and I plan to keep it this way. We have been working with the funds that we receive from the state and fuel taxes to support the activity in the Village. We are applying for grants where we can to help us fund projects like sidewalk replacement.

What one decision by the village board do you most disagree with and why?

No answer

What was the biggest accomplishment of the board in the past year?

For the past few years we had been working on repairing culverts throughout the village. I am very thankful for the hard work and time given by Dale Pierson and Trent. They have given many hours of their time to help our community and make this work successful. This past fall, we were finally able to call this work complete.

Why should voters elect you to office?

I feel that I have shown that I am a leader. I want to continue to serve our Village in this role. There are a lot of great people in our Village and serving them is a privilege
