Why are you running for the position of Kane County circuit clerk?

I want to again serve my community again. During my time in the military I served as a clerk and a supervisor of over 100 clerks who deployed to wars. I brought them back safely. The main job of the office is to supervise the clerks who are deployed to various court rooms and to insure their safe return. I was awarded a medal for saving 1.8 million per year in inventory costs. Inventorying evidence for the criminal courts are a function of the office.The office needs integrity brought to it. I can do that.The office needs to be run like a business. I have run businesses.The office has over 100 employees and a union. In my civilian career I have supervised over 100 unionized employees in a production environment. I improved their output from 125,000 /mo. to 1.2 million/mo. I had help from I.E.. What would your top three priorities be as circuit clerk?

1. Don’t spend $12,600,000.00 on a computer program that we can get from a similar size county for $0.00. Don’t make any expenditure that has no payback in a reasonable time frame to the taxpayers. 2. Improve the working conditions,moral,and efficiency for all in the office. How would you differentiate yourself from your opponent?

I’m a business man who has experience running similar offices in production environments and hazardous environments. I’ve had to balance budgets and cut costs. My opponent is a lawyer who pulled $100,000.00 out of his pocket to run this campaign. If you’re a Republican you know that he ran a hard campaign against his Republican candidates in the primary. Explain an accomplishment of yours and how it would relate to your being an effective circuit clerk.

I was awarded a metal for applying business concepts to an inventory system that saved the military 1.8 million / year. The clerk is responsible for inventorying evidence in criminal cases. I increased the output of a production department by over 100 % by applying simply industrial engineering concepts and common sense. As the circuit clerk, how would you work around the reported inefficiencies of the office’s current computer system and the county’s current attempts to upgrade?

First we need to realize the Clerk of the Circuit Court in Kane County is not alone in the state. There are many Clerks of the Circuit Court offices. There are many with the same size. That defines the size of the fines and fees. Ours and several others have populations in between 500,000 and 2 Million. If we look at a company with many divisions that use the same set of operating rules we should be able to cooperate in developing better quality programs. In business we take the best platform ( Program base ) and get a committee composed of the expert from each division and have them improve the systems. ( e.g. on star, on board computers, improved inventory systems, Just in time) The Clerk of the Circuit Court in Du Page County has the best Computer system developed on government time by government employees. They are willing to give it to us. It will run on our computer. If we take our 5 computer programmers and their 5 programmers and the other 4 county’s five programmers and put all them to solve a problem affecting the court system, we could solve the problem faster. Oh and did I tell you that would save the tax payers of Kane County 12.6 million dollars! If we don’t start running the Clerks office like a business ,the tax payers will pay that plus over 40 million for a new building. Neither is needed! First don’t spend the 12.6 million on a computer program bought from an outside company. We can get the program from Du Page county that will cost us $0.00 and it works! Second don’t spend 40 million on a building consolidation which is unnecessary if we put the employee safety system in place and we have a professional manager run the office. I have the integrity to run this office. I have the experience running offices with similar production demands ,inventory requirements, number of employees ,union negotiating ,and can improve the all these and improve the moral in this office.
