What experiences do you have that make you a good candidate for office?

I moved to Sugar Grove in 1985, in 1993 I established a business , tax consulting and investment service located in Sugar Grove. We provide service to small and medium sized business as well as individuals. The business has grown and now we have clients in Illinois as well several other states. I have found that successful business have a common denominator. The more efficient the business, the greater the positive effect on profits. This theory should also apply to the Township: the more efficient it operates, the lower amount of taxes required to fund the Township.

What are your top three priorities if elected?

Efficiently and effectively manage the operations of the Township. Improve and maintain internal controls over Township assets. Develop an accounting system that accurately represents each Township department’s monthly operations , assets and liabilities. Provide the Township Trustees with in-depth information on monthly operations and allow them to make cost - effective decisions. Create accurate budgets to identify duplicated expenses, which would be corrected thus reducing property taxes.

Would you support freezing your taxing district’s levy until housing prices rebound? Why or why not?

I would support freezing the taxing district’s levy until housing prices recover provided that would not have a negative impact on the services rendered by the Township to the Township taxpayers. My objective is to make every tax dollar the township collects count, and guarantee there is no duplication of expenses, nor collecting taxes that are not used to benefit the Township taxpayers.

What one decision by the township board do you most disagree with and why?

What was the biggest accomplishment of the board in the past year?

Why should voters elect you to office?

My parents told me when I was a child that no one can take your education from you. I have always wanted to accumulate knowledge so that I would be well equipped to solve problems. I worked hard in College earning a triple major (Accounting, Business and Marketing), a Masters Degree, and certification as a public accountant. Education only takes you so far: experience is vital, and so is personality. Throughout my career and life, I have worked with all types of individuals. I have attended Township meetings and it is evident that the current accounting system is not up to par. To run any organization you need reliable and timely information to make appropriate decisions. That is why I want to serve the Sugar Grove Township community and am asking for your vote.
