I would like to continue to help Kane County be the best it can be for all of the businesses and residents in the county.
I WILL CONTINUE TO LOOK INTO EACH AND EVERY PROCESS WITHIN ALL DEPARTMENTS TO SEARCH FOR THE MOST EFFICIENT COST SAVINGS.
I WILL ALSO CONTINUE TO ASSIST WITH THE RESTRUCTURING OF THE KANE COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL DEPARTMENT TO ENSURE THAT OUR PETS ARE TREATED AND SHELTERED WITH THE UTMOST OF CARE.
I WILL ALSO WORK WITH FELLOW BOARD MEMBERS IN AN EFFORT TO FREEZE KANE COUNTY PROPERTY TAX LEVIES. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT OUR GOVERNMENT REFLECTS THE UTMOST RESPECT FOR THE CONTRIBUTION OF EACH TAXPAYER.
I am not familiar with my opponent.
I AM A FRESH SET OF EYES LOOKING AT COUNTY GOVERNMENT. WITH OPENING A FOOD PANTRY 2 YEARS AGO, I FEEL THAT I TRULY UNDERSTAND MANY OF THE STRUGGLES THAT SO MANY KANE COUNTY FAMILIES ARE FACED WITH TODAY. I WILL HELP KANE COUNTY TO BE MORE PROACTIVE WITH RESOURCES TO HELP RESIDENTS DURING THESE ECONOMIC CHALLENGES. MY PRIOR PRIVATE SECTOR BUSINESS EXPERIENCE GIVES ME A PERSPECTIVE OF RECOGNIZING THAT THE SPENDING RELATING TO GOVERNMENT DECISIONS INVOLVE SEVERAL REALITIES. GOVERNMENT MUST LEARN TO LIVE WITHIN ITS MEANS. AS AN INCOMING BOARD MEMBER RUNNING FOR REFORM OF COUNTY GOVERNMENT IN 2008, IT WAS MY PLEDGE TO CONTINUE TO KEEP THIS IN MIND WHEN MAKING DECISIONS AFFECTING AN ALREADY OVERBURDENED TAX BASE AND I WILL CONTINUE WITH THAT PLEDGE.
The greatest challenge facing my district is respecting the tax burden placed upon everyone in my district. As the volunteer director of a local food pantry, I know all too well the hardships that many of our citizens face when confronted with the realities of this economy. As an elected official, I pledge to review every expenditure realizing that the taxpayers in my district are working daily to contribute to county services. I firmly believe the county needs to stay within its budget with a more efficient government operation.
I am a fresh set of eyes that will continue to bring common sense to the Kane County Board. I will continue to question any duplication of services and vote against needless spending and will use reasoned thoughtful consideration when making decisions on behalf of my district and the county overall.
I moved to Kane County in 1976. I have raised my children here and as a resident I have great interest in how our tax dollars are being spent and how our elected officials respond to the needs of their constituents. I feel confident that my qualifications and experiences are an excellent match for a position on the Board.
1.Control Taxes. We need to hold the line or reduce the tax burden to our residents, particularly in these tough economic times. Share operating costs by exploring private/public partnerships and avoid new initiatives and activities that are not supported by a source of funding.
2. Build a strong ethical government. One that is responsible to its constituents. One that holds itself and all public employees accountable. One that governs transparently and is a good steward to the assets and affairs of the county.
3. Seek way to improve the quality of life. By fostering safe communities, developing a business friendly climate that will promote job creation. Develop sustainable, environmentally friendly policies and business practices.
I am not really familiar with my opponent so I cannot comment.
In both my military and law enforcement careers, I started out in entry level positions and worked my way up into senior level positions. Those accomplishments and experiences have helped me to develop a keen awareness of business and management principals involved is strategic planning, budgeting, resource allocation, leadership techniques, contract negotiations, and crisis management. These activities have better prepared me to serve my District and meet the future challenges of the Board.
The greatest challenge to my district is finding ways to control taxes while still providing the much needed county services and attracting new business and job opportunities. In these tough economic times, this can only be done by prioritizing the needs of the county, eliminating waste, fraud and abuse, and creating private/public partnerships to share costs. The true challenge is finding ways to work together collaboratively regardless of party line to solve issues and concerns and meet the county.
I am honest and hardworking individual with a successful record of leadership and teambuilding coupled with the ability to work collaboratively with all constituents. Throughout my law enforcement career i have worked closely with state federal and local agencies gaining experience and knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulation and agency rules. I believe that knowledge and experience have uniquely qualified me for the position. I will work closely with my constituents to ensure the issues and concerns are clearly understood and their interests are properly represented. If elected, i pledge to use every resource available to me to help the county prosper. Above all, I will operate with honesty and integrity at all times.
